Are you confused with conflicting nutritional advice?
Have you lost trust in your body?

Do you find yourself constantly thinking about food?
Do you use food to help to manage stress?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, mindful eating may be right for you.

What is mindful eating?
Mindful eating is not another fad diet. It is about learning to recognize your body signals of hunger and fullness, learning the difference between true hunger and emotional hunger (a void that cannot be filled by eating) and learning to really savour and enjoy the food you want to eat, not what you think you should eat, resulting in an increased satisfaction with the eating experience. It allows you to free energy that you have previously been using obsessing about food and weight loss and live the life you were meant to live.

Why isn’t dieting working for me?
Studies show very poor long term success with diets. There are many reasons for this but in essence, our bodies are not designed to live in voluntary caloric restriction. Diets result in a feeling of deprivation frequently resulting in binge eating, feeling of shame and guilt, leading to a new vicious cycle of repeated dieting. In the long term, this results in excess caloric intake, weight gain, slowed metabolism and feelings of hopelessness and failure. Only by providing our bodies with exactly what we need, when we need it will we be able to reach optimal metabolism.
